There is no simple answer to this since it is mostly reliant on whether you are mentally strong and sound, the quality of your environment, the safety of the drug itself, and whether or not you think that certain metaphysical aspects have the ability to impact your physical reality.

Furthermore, a person does not need to have a mental illness diagnosis for this to be the case. Those prone to sadness and anxiety may find their symptoms relieved or eliminated, but they may also increase. Because a person’s mental and physical makeup is complicated and relatively unique, judgement must be arbitrary. Consider that ordinary issues may have nothing on DMT world challenges, which have little familiarity. Emotions may be drastically increased in an altered condition, and if you aren’t capable of dealing with life’s issues successfully, you will likely struggle with what comes up.

If you feel knowledgeable enough to produce your own ayahuasca or DMT, you will at least understand what went into it. However, there will be more aspects to consider. Did you get it right? Do you know how much of it to use? Do you know how to drink it properly, and whether deviating from this would result in a dramatically different experience?

You might not grasp what an entity stands to gain by interfering in your life, but is it a risk you’re willing to take? If not, do not consume ayahuasca alone.
